«الاستئناف الكويتية» تُبرّئ حليمة بولند

قضت محكمة الاستئناف الكويتية ببراءة الإعلامية الكويتية حليمة بولند من تهمة إثارة الفتنة الطائفية والتعاطف مع إيران، على خلفية تصريحات ومواقف أُثيرت خلال فترة الاعتداءات الإيرانية على الكويت، في حكم أنهى إحدى القضايا التي حظيت باهتمام واسع خلال الفترة الماضية.

وشهدت القضية تفاعلاً ملحوظاً على منصات التواصل في الكويت، وانقسمت الآراء بين مؤيد للحكم باعتباره تأكيداً لمبدأ القضاء المستقل والفصل في القضايا وفق الأدلة القانونية، وبين متابعين حرصوا على ترقب مسار القضية منذ بدايتها وحتى صدور الحكم النهائي.

ويأتي الحكم في إطار الإجراءات القضائية المعتادة التي تنظرها المحاكم الكويتية بمختلف درجاتها، إذ تمتلك محاكم الاستئناف صلاحية مراجعة الأحكام الصادرة من محاكم الدرجة الأولى وتأييدها أو تعديلها أو إلغائها وفقاً لما يتوافر لديها من معطيات قانونية.

The Kuwaiti Court of Appeals acquitted Kuwaiti media personality Halima Boland of the charge of inciting sectarian strife and sympathizing with Iran, following statements and positions raised during the period of Iranian aggression against Kuwait, in a ruling that concluded one of the cases that received widespread attention in recent times.

The case witnessed notable interaction on social media platforms in Kuwait, with opinions divided between those supporting the ruling as a confirmation of the principle of an independent judiciary and the adjudication of cases based on legal evidence, and followers who were keen to monitor the course of the case from its inception until the final ruling was issued.

Halima Boland has not yet issued a detailed comment on the circulating ruling, while the decision has brought her name back into the media discussion after a period of controversy surrounding the case.

The ruling comes within the framework of the usual judicial procedures that the Kuwaiti courts of various degrees consider, as the appellate courts have the authority to review rulings issued by first-degree courts and to uphold, amend, or annul them according to the legal data available to them.
